Bologna meeting: TPM and LTTA

Last week, from 18 to 21 January 2022, project partners visited Italy as part of the “Europe for VET+ 2” project. In Bologna (Italy), partners from Spain, Italy and Poland met for a transnational partner meeting for 1 day and training on three days.

For the second time, all project partners met in person. The first meeting took place in Zaragoza, where the partners were hosted by Mundus herself. This time we visited our partner organization IFOM in Bologna.

The Europe for VET 2 project aims to prepare employees of companies hosting Erasmus students as mentors. The aim of the project is to prepare for them Online Training and a Compendium with practical information on the hosting process, as well as Metric System that will help to evaluate and understand the company.

As part of the project, participants visited 3 different companies with their Mentors, which regularly host VET students on internships: from the hotel, catering and logistics industries. They also met with a teacher from the VET School, who, as a group leader, accompanies students on their foreign internships. They were asked what needs a mentor might have in order to better prepare them for the Erasmus VET student admission process. Through these visits, partners will tailor the online training and compendium to the specific needs of mentors and other staff who interact with the fellows on a regular basis.

In order to prepare the Online Training in the best possible way, participants took part in workshops with an expert “How to prepare an online training”. They also exchanged knowledge about various online tools and learning platforms that can be useful to make the training as interactive as possible. In addition, they prepared questionnaires for the assessment of companies by various parties involved in Erasmus VET internships: students, group tutors, intermediary organizations, as well as the companies themselves. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some sessions were held online or in smaller groups. After the working sessions, the participants visited the city of Bolgna and integrated to get to know each other better and improve their partnership for a better future cooperation.

The meeting was very intensive and will certainly have a positive impact on the process of hosting students. All this to improve the quality of Erasmus VET mobility.
